The frequent interaction between people and new intelligent technologies has meant that all kinds of tasks are delegated to them daily. Many people have developed a growing dependency, and this has become normalized to the point of being imperceptible and they are giving up social coexistence to spend more time with these systems. This research deals with this new reality and seeks to discover if this interaction is separating us from the enjoyment of an emerging fundamental right such as being able to be with our fellows and aims to make evident the need to protect it. All this was done by studying articles and publications on mental health, robotics, and artificial intelligence, as well as analyzing international law, doctrine, and interviewing experts in technology, psychology, and human rights. A secondary purpose is that readers become aware that new technologies are an intersection point where our rights concur to generate an academic debate and concludes with an analytical synopsis of the research and with some recommendations on the principles with which this issue should be treated in the future.
